I'm going to present to you some information on baby sleep patterns. A lot of people don't really understand it because babies are supposed to sleep a lot, but without the amount of crying that they do, you'd hardly believe that statistic.
Basically when a baby is first born, they'll need to sleep roughly 16-18hrs a day. It's a lot. Now they don't do it all at once, as you can guess. They'll get in roughly a few hours and than they'll be hungry. It's sort of like a natural process of growth. Eat, sleep, grow, repeat.
As the weeks pass, so does the baby sleep patterns. You'll notice that the baby will need slighly less each week. After a few months they'll be down to roughly 12hrs. It's really amazing how fast they'll progress.
That's basically what makes up a baby sleep pattern. They sleep for a little, they need to eat and they sleep some more. It's the process of growing and this is the time where a human being grows the most. They say puberty is a big time for growth, but this is definitely the biggest.
