Types of Insomnia

There are three types of insomnia that people commonly have…

  • Transient - This is typically sleep difficulty that last for a few days or up to a week. When you experience this type of insomnia, you usually don't have any mental impairment.

  • Acute - This is a short-term form of insomnia which usually lasts a few weeks to a few months.

  • Chronic - This is the severe form of insomnia which is when you have sleeping difficulties that last for months to years at a time. This is the one where you will experience mental impairment, fatigue and even hallucinations.
