Acute insomnia is very similar to transient insomnia except it lasts a lot longer. It is brought on typically by the same stresses and changes in your life.

- Emotional/Physical discomfort
- The sleep environment
- Medications
- Jet Lag
- Weather
It doesn't typically have to do with your partner your in the same bed with. That usually causes a lower quality sleeping experience, but after a few days you end up sleeping through it.
At this point, you're having the conditions of transient insomnia, but things are carrying on too long. You're not getting over things properly, you're still stressed or you're not dealing with causes.
If it's not any of these things, it could be something related to Chronic Insomnia.
