Ideas to Help Stop SnoringI'm going to share with you some ideas to help stop snoring. This is a problem that is actually quite easy to deal with. You may not be aware, but there are a lot of odd and interesting ways of dealing with it. It's not like you have to invest a lot of time in changing this. The solutions are usually easy things that you can apply before you hop into bed. I think the real problem is that a lot of people that snore don't actively go out and seek a solution. It's usually a spouse or a friend that recommends the solution to them. I'm going to share with you the easiest ideas to help stop snoring, so you can have the least resistance possible when it comes to snoring. It has been well known for a long time that snoring usually happens when you're lying on your back. Basically there is a loose piece of tissue in the back of your throat that gets in the way of air. Gravity pulls it right down into the throat and it vibrates, which creates the snoring sound. By simply rolling onto your side, gravity pulls the loose tissue to the side and the snoring problem disappears. Forcing yourself to stay on your side the whole night is the hard part. What I've found works is sowing a tennis ball into the back of a t-shirt. This way when you try to roll onto your back in the middle of a sleep, the ball will be in the way. Another one of my ideas to help stop snoring is a chin strap. What people don't seem to understand that your jaw's position actually determines how much airway is available in your throat. If you just close your jaw, the airway opens up. The more space you have for air, the less likely you'll snore. All you need is a chin strap that holds your jaw up while you sleep. March 30 2009
