Snoring happens because of violent vibrations that happen in the back of your throat. There are specific things that happen when you're asleep that result in this happening that differs from when you're awake. I think the main reason this happens is that your jaw falls open when you're asleep. This creates a specific physiological response that a lot of people don't understand. When your mouth opens up, your throat narrows. This narrowing causes air to travel at a much faster speed and you get a lot of vibration due to that.

When it comes to how you beat snoring, you have to use a chin strap. It's really a simple device that holds your chin up, so your mouth is closed. It wraps around the chin and the top of your head. When you use this device it becomes virtually impossible to snore.
